We are finally done with PARCC Testing! We missed Genius Bar last week, due to lack of computers, so we hope to start working hard again this week. This week we are working on creating more advertisements for the Genius Bar. Bowie and Gavin use PowToons to create fun little animations that provide information about Genius Bar. This concludes our first meeting after the completion of PARCC Testing.

This week was a slow week! Today, after school was help on the Funky Froggy challenge on https://www.khanacademy.org. We also continued working on online tutorials and creating advertising powtoons to get the word out about our work in Genius Bar! There were no clients with technology problems to help today. Yesterday we did the community service hours chart, we even got the chance to finish that project!
During the meeting of the 18th, Amanda (the teacher) was our only client. Her computer was alright, it was Chrome that was acting up! It wasn’t opening at all, and other internet services worked just fine. So, our team of experts were on the case! We figured that uninstalling the Chrome app would help. Then we could redownload it and try to use it after it downloads. THE RESULTS ARE IN… IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another success for the Geniuses. That’s all for this edition. Keep checking the blog for more updates on our school’s technology. Our Genius Bar students trouble shooting!
Greetings from the Genius Bar blog. We haven’t been posting in awhile, but we decided that today would make a great day to inform you about what has been going on. Since we didn’t post about last week, this report will include last week as well as this week's updates. Last week, Amy wasn’t available on Monday, so there was no Genius Bar that day. :( However, on Tuesday Krista was generous enough to run Genius Bar, so that we could meet. We had a couple clients, one with a malfunctioning camera. Other than that, business was pretty slow. Please remember that we are open to the public anytime you need help! Just make an appointment that is convenient for you and ta-da, help is available! This week, there was more excitement. On Monday, the remaining members of Unity Help Desk started to work on a new powtoon about the upcoming Eco Fun Fest- view it below! Don’t forget to check out the Eco Fun Fest website! On Tuesday, we got our picture taken as a club! Fun! The powtoon was continued by Ryan, Garin, Maddy, and Mayank. Looking good guys! That’s all for this addition of the blog! Today we are working on written tutorials. We are writing these so people that have never used these websites they can learn how to use them. We are writing tutorials for the following Spotify, and Pandora. These are both websites to listen to music while you are working.
Our website is slowly growing. We are finishing up the our team page. We are getting more teachers than students at the Genius Bar, so we need more students- stop on by!!! Try making an appointment or just come on a Tuesday. We are making some tutorials on how to use Google Play, Spotify, Pandora, Scratch coding, and Google Drive. Check out our "tutorial" page for more!
Hey Unity Charter School! Here’s some hot news! The Unity Genius Bar is featured on techteamhub.weebly.com! Okay, so you probably are wondering, what is that? Well, the website we’ve been featured on is INTERNATIONAL! We’re so excited because the chance to help more is so exciting! Make sure to check us out, so you can say you knew us before we went big. ;) Aside from that, our group of experts helped Jilliane with her Mac! Great job guys! Just remember, your fellow peers are here to help!
While the second meeting was a little hectic determining our meeting place, everyone got to the right place and started working right away. Needless to say, the team works very well together. Our second client, teacher Krista, came in with a dysfunctional mouse. Our very own Mayank Tiku, fixed the computer in 5 minutes tops! This GENIUS realized that the computer was just tired and needed a fresh start. New flyers have been posted around the school, informing students and staff when the Unity Charter School Genius Club will be meeting, and where we will be meeting. Make sure to check us out every week for more updates and shoutouts! Go Wolves!
In the first meeting of the Unity Genius Club, the students excelled at creating flyers and the new Genius Club website. These phenomenal young ladies created an eye pleasing page. A couple of other students worked on flyers to hang around the school. Organized, and full of information, there were a total of about 20! All thanks to great collaboration and teammates. But that’s not all, the few others who were not making flyers, or working on the Unity PTO Eco Fun Fest website, created brochures, that matched the Wolves colors perfectly! This is your school blog writer, signing off.
